About this piece
Shyama, the dark Mother as Bengal loves her: black skin, red tongue, the third eye, a nose ring and jhumkas, a grey saree under an ivory lace chador worked in flowers. Four arms — the khanda, the severed head, and two red palms raised in abhaya and vara. Her foot rests on Shiva, who lies calm on the lotus plinth with the crescent in his hair and the serpent at his neck. Hand-cast in resin and hand-painted one at a time in Kolkata, 10 cm to 20 cm.

How it is made
Each Shyama — Maa Kali is 3D modelled, printed in resin at the size you choose, cleaned, cured, and then hand-painted one piece at a time in our Kolkata studio. Because the colour is laid on by hand, no two pieces are identical.
