About this piece
Bimal Kar’s Kikira Kumar Roy, the stage magician who became a detective, caught mid-deduction with pipe and magnifying glass over a photograph. Red patterned waistcoat and scarf, checked trousers, a brass pocket watch on its chain. Around him the tools of the case: a lantern still burning, stacked books on Indian history, rolled maps, a compass on the parchment, a leather satchel and a carved stone relief. Hand-cast in resin on a polished wood plinth with the brass KIKIRA · THE GREAT plate.

How it is made
Each Kikira is 3D modelled, printed in resin at the size you choose, cleaned, cured, and then hand-painted one piece at a time in our Kolkata studio. Because the colour is laid on by hand, no two pieces are identical.
