About this piece

Syed Mustafa Siraj’s Colonel Niladri Sarkar, the retired army man turned detective who would rather be chasing butterflies: one boot up on a rock, pipe in hand, hat with the feather, satchel and binoculars on. A kingfisher watches from the branch, a monarch rests on his books — Birds of India, Butterflies, Nature. Hand-cast in resin, brass-look plate on the plinth.

How it is made

Each Colonel Niladri Sarkar is 3D modelled, printed in resin at the size you choose, cleaned, cured, and then hand-painted one piece at a time in our Kolkata studio. Because the colour is laid on by hand, no two pieces are identical.
